NEW ORLEANS, La.– New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has announced a $25,000 donation to a fund assisting victims of the domestic terrorism attack on New Years Eve in New Orleans.
Jordan spoke with the media on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center ahead of the Saints’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season.
“New Orleans is my home, and my heart goes out to everyone impacted by this tragedy,” said Jordan in a statement released earlier Thursday. “I hope this donation can provide some measure of relief and support during this difficult time.”
“You just want to help your city,” Jordan furthered.”When you lose a life, that’s something you can never get back.”
Jordan has been a vocal advocate for the city of New Orleans throughout his career, consistently using his platform to give back to the community.
“It’s so much bigger than football right now,” Jordan emphasized.
“It puts it in perspective. [Our] 5-11 season is tough to deal with yet we’re still alive and breathing.”
“What should’ve been a joyous time rolling into 2025 ended up being a nightmare,” said Jordan.

The donation will be directed towards a fund specifically established to aid victims and their families. Details regarding the fund and how to contribute can be found on the team’s official website.
“The Greater New Orleans Foundation joins the City of New Orleans and fellow community partners to launch the New Orleans New Year’s Day Tragedy Fund to assist the victims and survivors of the 2025 New Year’s Day mass casualty incident,” the description of the fund reads.
“This city knows how to bounce back”, said Jordan.
Jordan’s teammates and coaches have also expressed their support for his initiative, praising his commitment to the city and its people. The Saints organization has a long history of community involvement, and Jordan’s donation is just the latest example of their dedication to making a positive impact.
