Ashanti and Nelly’s latest venture is here to make fertility and hormones less of a mystery!
Shortly after announcing their engagement and impending parenthood, the couple introduced Proov, a company specializing in fertility and hormone diagnostics.
According to the company’s website, Proov has all the goods! From early pregnancy tests to “Hers and His kits,” they cover all bases. Need to check your egg count? There’s a “Reserve” kit for that. Are you trying to pinpoint your most fertile days? Grab the “Predict + Confirm” kit because why not predict AND confirm right? It’s like having your own fertility fairy godmother in a box!
Proov, founded in 2016, claims that it’s streamlined the process to minimize errors.
“Apps, ovulation tests, and devices can be helpful for tracking your fertile days, but they can miss fertility red flags,” the website reads. “Add Proov to your favorite ovulation tracking method for actionable information on things that impact your fertility the most.”
Proov, as reported by Forbes, unveiled the pioneering PdG-test, digging into Pregnanediol Glucuronide levels to ensure ovulation success. Dr. Amy Beckley, Proov’s CEO and mastermind, cooked up the idea after wrestling with fertility tracking herself.
“We are the only FDA-cleared and CE-marked at-home test to determine if there is a problem with ovulation,” Beckley told the outlet. “Since the process of ovulation is what makes estrogen and progesterone, if a woman is not ovulating properly, she can have symptoms of hormone imbalance that can affect every aspect of her life. We are the first to give women insights into their hormones completely at home, no blood test or waiting for a lab to analyze their samples.”
On April 17, the singer of “Rock Wit U (Awww Baby)” took to Instagram to confirm ongoing rumors: she’s expecting.
“Baby baby baby baby [red heart, praying hands, smile emojis],” she captioned the video post, while also mentioning the fertility company.
“This new year of life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation,” said Ashanti, speaking to ESSENCE about her baby news. “Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.”
