Millions of dollars are on the line, as the Kansas City Chiefs’ star duo, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, became victims of October home invasions.

The quarterback and tight end will receive assistance from Cass County and Leawood officials, as they are investigating the incidents. The two athletes have been the target of recent burglaries taking place in the Kansas City area.

Burglaries of Mahomes, Kelce homes occurred hours apart

Intruders invaded both houses within a matter of hours. On October 6th, burglars targeted Mahomes’ home in Benton, Missouri, followed by a break-in at Kelce’s residence in Leawood, Kansas.

During the invasion, both Mahomes and Kelce were not in their homes.

According to the police report, the break-in occurred around 7:33 p.m., shortly after “Monday Night Football.”

Furthermore, the report reveals that criminals stole $20,000 in cash from Kelce’s $6 million home and damaged his back door.

Mahomes speaks out about October break-ins

In an interview preparing for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs’ quarterback stated how upset and frustrating he felt. Moreover, he explained how “[he] can’t get into too many of the details because the investigation is still ongoing. But obviously it’s something that you don’t want to happen to, really anybody, but obviously yourself.”

Ronnie Lozano, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department, confirmed the ongoing investigation but declined to comment on whether authorities have made any arrests. The county prosecutor has not yet responded to an email seeking comment.
