When someone identifies an issue but fails to act, they are merely an issue finder. For true impact, action must follow. In the race for Mayor, Monroe Nichols stands out as the candidate who embodies these qualities. Since the beginning, he has developed a community-focused plan, addressing issues vital to Tulsa by working directly with those affected.
Monroe’s commitment is clear. For example, when the community identified a need for crossing guards, he took the initiative to provide support himself, rather than relying on connections or exploiting others’ efforts.
His approach also emphasizes inclusivity, ensuring that the voices of indigenous leaders and other marginalized groups—such as the incarcerated, victims of domestic violence, and the houseless—are represented in his future administration.
Unfortunately, his opponent resorts to bold, inaccurate claims in an attempt to undermine his progress. Her focus on political gain undermines the relationships she once claimed to value as part of her platform. Voting for anyone other than Monroe Nichols would be a disservice to our community, perpetuating issues like the ongoing problems at the Juvenile “Justice” Center and a lack of accountability in public service.
We deserve a trustworthy leader—one who is consistent and stands firm in the face of adversity, recognizing power isn’t a seat but is within the community. The choice is clear: Monroe Nichols for Mayor.
