OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.–The outpouring of grief and love from hundreds of people on social media showcased the immense impact Eboni Bunch had on many lives following the announcement of her death over the weekend.
An Oklahoma City resident and graduate of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Eboni DeVon Bunch passed away on Dec. 6, 2024 at just 33 years old, according to Temple & Sons Funeral Directors. Her cause of death wasn’t publicly identified, but her mother called it “unexpected.”
A person of many talents and interests, Bunch was a registered nurse, digital creator and bodybuilder. She leaves behind a mother, father, spouse and her daughter, Enix.
“Anyone who knows our family knows how much Eboni meant to all of us and how much this loss will affect our entire family. I know that Eboni touched many lives, and we are all devastated. She lived an extraordinary life filled with lots of travel, adventures, laughter, inspiration and love,” Eboni’s mother, Angela King Smith, posted to Facebook Saturday.
“Eboni was well-loved by many, and words can’t describe how much she will be missed. Her baby girl Enix is well and full of life,” Smith posted.
Hundreds mourn Eboni Bunch
Over 400 people have shared Smith’s Facebook post expressing their grief and love for how Eboni Bunch impacted their lives.
As an active leader, Kappa Psi member and support system for Freshmen students on OU’s campus, some people pointed to how Bunch made their journeys easier navigating through college.



Others spoke to how Bunch inspired them to pursue their own fitness journeys. Bunch’s fitness journey led her to bodybuilding competitions, where she’s won several awards.



Ultimately, the words from people who knew and loved her prove Eboni Bunch was a loving, welcoming soul who lived her life to the fullest while pouring into others in her community.
Information of Eboni’s memorial services will be posted at a later date, her mother said.
