“Y’all know I’ve told y’all over the last couple of weeks about me battling something internally,” NFL great Randy Moss said in an Instagram Live video. “Your boy is a cancer survivor.”

Moss, 47, is a former wide receiver who scored over 150 touchdowns in his 14-year career. Now an ESPN analyst, Moss sounded optimistic in his video as he told fans about his ongoing treatment.

Moss was in the hospital for six days after having surgery to remove tumors near his liver and pancreas. He says he will “have a tough road” ahead with ongoing chemotherapy and radiation to ensure the cancer doesn’t return, but reiterated his gratitude that the disease was caught early.

While he continues his treatment, Moss will step back from his duties behind the ESPN desk. “As soon as I get healthy [enough] to get back out with the guys, I will be on set.” Moss said in the video. “Hopefully I can be with you guys soon.”

He then took to Twitter (X) with the three simple words “LET’S MOSS CANCER.”

Support pours in for Randy Moss from across the League

Well wishes from across the sports world soon came pouring in for the NFL superstar and his family.

The Minnesota Vikings, Moss’s team for seven seasons, wrote they were “thinking about and praying for you and your family as you finish treatments.”

Ron Gronkowski, who played with Moss during his four seasons with the New England Patriots, also offered encouragement.

“Love you, Randy.” Gronkowski wrote. “Dominating opponents is what you always have done and you will sure do it again! You got this!!”

During his live video, Randy Moss thanked his friends, family, and “prayer warriors” for their consistent support.

“I didn’t think I would ever be in a position like this, as healthy as I thought I was,” the Hall of Famer said.

All the prayers, the well wishes, I really felt that,” he continued. “My family felt that.”
