TULSA, Okla. – Greenwood Rising Black Wall Street History Center is currently offering free admission for Oklahoma residents on “Freedom Fridays,” extending through March 7. This is thanks to a partnership with TTCU Federal Credit Union, a founding sponsor of Greenwood Rising. “Freedom Fridays” also coincide with Black History Month in February.
“Greenwood Rising serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and remembrance, honoring the legacy of Black Wall Street while inspiring a future of hope, equity and empowerment,” said TTCU President and CEO, Shelby Beil.
“It is more than a museum; it is a testament to the strength of a community and a call to build a better tomorrow. TTCU is proud to once again sponsor this critically important institution so that more people can experience its profoundly meaningful lessons,” Beil adds.
“We have visitors who come to the museum from all over the world,” says Greenwood Rising Executive Director Dr. Raymond Doswell. “We want to inspire and invite regional neighbors to experience Greenwood Rising during Black History Month and see what others have traveled hundreds or thousands of miles to see.”
Greenwood Rising uses a timed ticketing system to limit overcrowding inside the exhibitions, so reservations are preferred for all Freedom Fridays (February 7, 14, 21, 28, March 7).
“Walk-in” guests are welcome, but only as reservation space allows. For more information on how to reserve your ticket or access free admission, click here: greenwoodrising.org/freedom-fridays-ttcu.
