Editors of The Tulsa World announced they will continue using the term “Tulsa race riot” in their writing.
Our editors unanimously believe that the term “riot” undercuts the mass lynching that was the destruction of Greenwood in 1921. We have and will continue to refer to the event as a “massacre”.
Do you believe the events of 1921 should be referred to as a “riot”, or is it time we unanimously begin referring to them as a “massacre”?
