Rihanna, the multi-hyphenate talent with a commitment to promoting human rights, is officially a billionaire. Forbes Magazine recently calculated Rihanna’s net worth at $1.7 billion. 

With that number, Rihanna is officially the richest female entertainer in the world, followed by Oprah. 

Rihanna, who broke through thanks to her entertainment career over the last 12 years, acquired most of her vast fortune through Fenty, her beauty brand, which generates more income per year than her music. 

According to Forbes, “The bulk of her fortune (an estimated $1.4 billion) comes from the value of Fenty Beauty, of which Forbes can now confirm she owns 50%. Much of the rest lies in her stake in her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, worth an estimated $270 million, and her earnings from her career as a chart-topping musician and actress.”

Rihanna has become a fashion mogul

The estimated net worth of Fenty Beauty is $2.8 billion. In partnership with luxury brand LVMH, Fenty has made a splash on the market thanks to its inclusive style, an innovation in the world of beauty products. 

Fenty Beauty was launched in 2017, and featured makeup for “every type of woman,” offering 40 different foundation shades, which no other beauty brand provided at the time. Fenty was a leader in the movement for more inclusive beauty options. 

Celebs across the world celebrated Rihanna’s achievement, with Nicki Minaj writing in an instagram post: “a BILLI-ON here, a BILLI-ON there– Little Bajan bih w/ green [eyes] – dat bag is a different size.”

Despite her new title, Rihanna isn’t content to sit idly by. Her new ventures include a perfume called Fenty Parfum, as well as a Caribbean cookbook featuring recipes from her childhood, and a line of Fenty hair products.

Fans are also waiting for her new album to materialize. Rihanna, who hasn’t released a record since 2016, has dropped a few teasers about R9, her highly anticipated Reggae album, but has not officially confirmed a release date.
