Morgan Price, a gymnast from Fisk University, made history by becoming the first athlete from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) team to win a national collegiate championship. At the USA Gymnastics’ 2024 Women’s Collegiate National Championships, held in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Price clinched the title with an impressive all-around score of 39.225.

Shining Spotlight on HBCU Gymnastics

Joining athletes from 12 college teams, Price stood out as a trailblazer for HBCU gymnastics. She made the decision to join Fisk University’s gymnastics team in 2023 after graduating from high school, despite initially planning to attend Arkansas. Coach Corrine Tarver’s question, “Do you want to make history?” prompted Price to choose Fisk University, marking the beginning of her groundbreaking journey.
